Our desire to empower youth with athletic opportunities stems from a core conviction that sports help build character, develop mental health, teach sportsmanship and teamwork, and serve as very much needed emotional and physical outlets. Ideally, a youth’s participation in athletics will help foster family bonds and provide opportunities for healthy, positive affirmation and encouragement.

Angels for Athletics aims to subsidize the cost of sports-related activities for under-resourced youth, families, teams, and schools. AFA will raise funds to provide direct financial relief to our qualifying athletes.

In effect, we believe this form of empowerment will improve participating youth’s academic and social success, deepen their sense of value and self-worth, all the while breaking down economic barriers and leveling the playing field for young athletes to excel and compete.

We believe that sports, for many kids, provides a critical anchor of confidence and self-worth that may not otherwise exist or be realized. Fundamentally, we are a Christ-centered ministry whose experience of God’s love leads us to serve and bless young athletes with potentially critical glimpses of hope, compassion, service and love.
